![]() ![]() Depends on what you are harvesting (nodes have specific limits)Ħ. ![]() How much does a star make a difference on efficiency? Is a 3 star 200% melee the same as a 4 star 100%? How is this determined? What is the formula?Ĥ. How much more hide does a 200% melee character harvest than a 100% (double probably?)ĭoes a 4 star dino with 100% melee harvest the same amount of hide as the 4 star hatchet with a 100% melee character? If the ascendant hatchet is better than the 400% raptor, at what melee % does the raptor surpass the ascendant hatchet given the player only has 100% melee. What harvest more hide? 400% melee raptor or a 100% melee character with an ascendant metal hatchet. What harvests more hide? A 400% melee raptor (3 star efficiency) or 200% melee character with a prim metal hatchet(4 star efficiency). I'll simply ask a couple questions and hopefully it proves the point of my confusion. I'm looking for insight into how the game functions. I'm not looking for a fix to a specific situation. I realize that a high level dino is always the way to go, but it's not always feasible. Okay I feel like the point of my post is being missed. It becomes pretty obvious really quickly that this is not efficient. ![]() Not to mention the time saved of just chomping on a dino with the wolf and then moving onto the next vs chomping said dino, jumping off and harvesting with a hatchet, jump back on move to the next. If you are talking about a raptor harvesting for hide, it'll never be great at that compared to taming say a Direwolf for example. The reason this method kills vs using metal tools becomes obvious when you realize that not only do you have a dino dedicated to getting you mass amounts of a certain resource, but they also will have much better weight than you have, and they often get a weight buff on certain items in their inventory. 99% of the time your best bet is to tame a dino that is great at harvesting a certain resource.įor example, when building in stone I tame a Doed, Beaver, and Megolosorus. The better tools for the most part are going to give you better durability vs a whole lot more resource grab. But say a 3 star dino with 200% melee vs 4 star hatchet with 150% melee.Īnd what about green hatchet. This is useful as long as the melee stats are the same. ![]()
